Volunteer with us in July

We need your help to improve communication about the natural world!

We’re looking for volunteers to help with research on how people use social media to share their connections with nature. It’s a flexible, remote volunteering opportunity for people interested in the environment, communication, or research – great for people that are keen to volunteer but have limited time!

What’s involved:

  • Together we will be looking through social media photos with specific nature hashtags to discover if there are interesting patterns or behaviour that people capture when they are sharing images of them enjoying nature.
  • You will be given a specific timeframe, hashtag, and platform (either Twitter or Instagram). To look through the photos, you will need to have either a twitter or Instagram account or be able to set one up (please let us know if you have a preference)
  • You’ll then log that photo and answer questions/write comments about the image in a shared google spreadsheet
  • You can spend as much or as little time on the research as you like – any help you can give us in July would be hugely appreciated!
  • Take part in the project in your own time and/or come along to one of our online group sessions on Thursday 15th July 6-7pm or Friday 16th July 1-2pm

If you are interested in taking part, please email Ellie, ellie@bnhc.org.uk, to find out more.
