Explore Nature in Moorlands Park – Community Day

The Friends of Moorlands Park, Bath Urban Treescape and Bath Natural History Society invite you to explore the nature of Moorlands Park through a varied programme of activities.

9:00am – Moth Trap Opening (weather permitting)

Start the day with a close‑up look at local moth species as we open the overnight moth trap. A great opportunity to learn about these fascinating nocturnal insects.

10:30am – Biodiversity Survey & Wildflower Walks

Bath Naturalists will:

  • Demonstrate how to carry out a biodiversity survey in the East Field
  • Lead short wildflower walks around the park

These morning activities are drop‑in — no booking required.

2:30pm – Tree Walk with Hugh Williamson

Join Hugh Williamson from Bath Urban Treescape for a guided Tree Walk following Rob’s Route on the Bath Urban Treescape Tree Trail (Route E).

This is a ticketed event — book your place here.

Accessibility information
The event will be held in the park and child friendly. The main events will be in sloping grassy fields.

  • By bus: The Number 8 bus from Bath City Centre to Moorfields Road
  • By car: To Englishcombe Lane or Chantry Mead, with parking outside the park or in the small car park accessed by the eastern entrance off Englishcombe Lane
  • By foot: Via entrances off Englishcombe Lane, Chantry Mead and Moorfields Road
