A picture is worth a thousand words and in this age of social media, everyone can show the world pictures of their life and surroundings! The Capturing Nature competition, run by a student researcher at UWE Bristol and supported by the Bristol Natural History Consortium, is a brilliant opportunity for you to share your photos of the natural world. All you have to do is take a picture of nature in and around Bristol and Bath; this could be a fox that visits your garden, a patch of wild flowers that you pass every day on the way to work or a pigeon strutting down the high street! Nature is everywhere; you just have to look for it! If you’re taking part in the City Nature Challenge this is a great chance to take some snaps of the different things you find!
The competition is open to everyone living in the Bristol and Bath area aged eighteen years and over. You don’t have to own a camera; a good quality photo taken on a smart phone is perfect! If your photo is chosen as a finalist by our judging panel it will be displayed at the Bristol Festival of Nature and the overall winner will be decided by visitors at the festival. The winner will receive a £30 Amazon voucher!
