Roy Kareem is the Director of Bright Green Future, an environmental leadership and empowerment programme for 16-19 year olds that connects personal development with positive environmental change. The programme is based at the Centre for Sustainable Energy in Bristol, UK.

Roy is a qualified teacher, Forest School Leader, and trained Co-Active Coach; he currently serves on Bristol’s One City Environment Board and as a trustee for the Bristol and Bath Parks Foundation, and was a former Black and Green Ambassador for Bristol.

Roy has been invited to speak at multiple conferences, including the UN’s COP26 in Glasgow, 1% for the Planet’s London Sessions (2022), Blue Ocean Summit (2022), the Better Business Summit (2023), and the Natural History Museum’s Generation Hope series (2023).

Roy’s pathway has traversed a multitude of sectors including stints at MTV Networks, a DJ in some dubious London bars, a shark researcher with the Save Our Seas Foundation, and a primary school teacher in Barcelona.
