Rebecca Maxted is a BBC content producer with nearly two decades of experience across the BBC making music and speech radio. Whilst producing the Sunday morning breakfast show at BBC Radio 2 she recognised that so many listeners cared, like she did, about the challenge of climate change and our natural environment. In 2021 she led an initiative on Radio 2 to encourage audiences to engage in the plight of our pollinators with The Big Bee Challenge, led by Zoe Ball. Children designed bee-friendly gardens, with a winning design built for young people accessing mental health services in Doncaster. In 2023 she led a collaborative project, Let It Grow, for BBC Radio 2, Blue Peter and BBC Teach to help inspired children and adults to turn grey spaces into wild and colourful places.
