Do I need to book for a session in advance?

You do not need to book ahead for session! You just need to turn up to the session at the right time and you will be able to take part.

Wow, four parallel sessions! Will sessions be recorded as I want to attend two running at the same time?

Sessions will be recorded and will be available on the Natural History Consortium Youtube channel after the event. Please note that this could take up to 3 weeks and we will announce when they are online through our social media and newsletter.

A few caveats to be aware of in case there is a particular session you really don’t want to miss!

  • We will check with speakers that they are happy for their session to be made public. If they don’t want their talk online, we will not upload their session.
  • We will cut Question and Answer sections when a delegate is on screen from all recordings.
  • We will not record Fireside Chat sessions.

Is there a minimum tech requirement to take part?

Like a lot of online video conferencing systems, Hopin requires a good internet connection. If you are able to use Zoom, Skype or Microsoft Teams on your computer you will also be able to take part without any problems. In technical terms the Hopin team recommend that, as a delegate, you have at least a 10Mpbs upload/download speed to get the most out of your experience. Please read our guide on using Hopin for more information.

You will need to run Hopin on Google Chrome, Firefox or the latest version of Edge. Please do not use Internet Explorer as you will encounter problems with logging in and accessing the conference.

If you are joining the conference using a mobile device or tablet, you can also access Hopin using the app, which can be download from your app store.
