Dr Melissa Marselle is a Lecturer of Environmental Psychology at the University of Surrey and a core member of the Environmental Psychology Research Group. She is an expert on the mental health benefits of biodiversity, and the application of behaviour change theory to nature conservation problems. Collaborating with ecologists, she has examined the influence of street tree biodiversity on anti-depressant prescriptions, and plant and bird species richness on mental health. She has analysed the behaviour change interventions addressed in EU/UK pollinator policies. Melissa was a contributing author to the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services’ (IPBES) Values Assessment.
