Adam is CEO of Leeds based environmental education charity, Meanwood Valley Urban Farm, which connects people to nature particularly those who wouldn’t normally get the chance to get out into the great outdoors. The charity works in particular with around 10,000 young people each year and groups of adults with learning disabilities all who get to experience farm animals, food growing, conservation and sustainability. The Farm is also a popular visitor attraction open to the general public 7 days a week. Adam’s previous roles included managing urban regeneration projects in West Yorkshire and working for a regeneration consultancy in east London. He was also a Labour Councillor in Leeds for 19 years including being cabinet member for Leisure, Culture and Skills and cabinet member for Adult Social Care, and Chief Whip of the Labour Group. Out of work, Adam is a keen hiker, cinema and theatre goer and drinker of gin (though not necessarily at the same time)!
