DAY 1 DONE! (and only 3 more to go!)
30th April 2021
AMAZING work to everyone who has taken part so far in City Nature Challenge! We're thrilled that the UK iNaturalist project map (which you can find here) has started to come to life with records from all corners of the country!
Below is a breakdown of some of the things that have happened so far:
The UK has reached a big milestone….1000 different species recorded!
Hedgehogs, Moles and Common Shrews have been recorded
Three UK cities are in the top 30 cities across the world for number of observations made!
106 different bird, 23 different Molluscs, and 27 different Arachnid, and 4 different amphibians species have been recorded so far! What will be found over the coming 3 days?!
Plants are topping the Kingdom breakdown (it helps if what you're recording doesn't move much)
And finally 766, amazing, people have joined the challenge so far and have uploaded records to iNaturalist

City Nature Challenge runs for a further 3 days - if you would like to take part simply download the iNaturalist app to your smartphone or tablet device (or use the desktop version) and record the nature you see during the bank holiday weekend!
