Help us find our 2012 Species

If you can find one of our 2012 species, or any others not on our list, you can help us in our massive survey of UK wildlife by sending your photos of wildlife to our friends at iSpot. Tagging your records with our special tag: "Meet the Species" makes sure that the species you find help us tick off our big list before the end of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer. Its easy - just 4 simple steps!

Our species counter to the right of this page will keep you up to date with how many we have found so far and your can check out what other people have submitted to iSpot by clicking here.

Here is how to do it:

 

1. Sign up with iSpot

Follow the link at the bottom of this page to get to the iSpot website. It only takes a few seconds to sing up and the easiest way is to sign in through your facebook or twitter account, or you can fill in the short online form

2.Upload your sighting

Now you have signed in, you can enter your observation, upload your photo and information about when and where you found the species.

Don't forget to put "Meet the Species" in the 'Descriptive tag' box!

Don't forget to tag your record with the phrase: "Meet the Species"

3. Find your location

You can use the simple map function to help you find the location for your species

4. Finished!

Check that you are happy with the information and click save to see your final record. iSpot will give you links to see the national database data for your species and more information through the Encyclopedia of Life.

Simple as that! You have added to national conservation research!
