Run a Meet the Species activity at your school!
Meet the Species have joined forces with Get Set, the official London 2012 Education Programme, to create some fantastic teaching resources.
If you are interested in doing practical wildlife activities inside and outside the class room, we have everything you need in the downloadable teaching packs.
Meet the Species' Education pack and the Olympic Park Case Study will help you to plan exciting lessons to get children out of the classroom and learning about the everyday habitats they share with a host of other species. Students will learn why wildlife recording is important and how this activity has helped ensure the Olympic Park will be a great venue for wildlife as well as sport. Teachers will find all the information needed to put on an outdoor wildlife activity, including lesson plans, toolkit and wildlife facts
Once you've decided on an activity - be sure to get your schools event accredited by filling in the Registration Form to make your wildlife findings count!
Schools and colleges that participate in Meet the Species school activity will be recognised by London 2012 with a plaque and certificate, and will be granted the right to use the London 2012 education logo on their website, school/college sign and letterhead. Join the Get Set network and access exclusive rewards such as tours of the Olympic Park, and visits from athletes. Visit www.london2012.com/getset to find out more.
