Bristol Water was the official sponsors of the 2010 Festival of Nature Volunteer Programme

Bristol Water and the Festival of Nature

"All of us use water every day, but there’s lots to learn about the close link between the water we use and the broader environment. For instance, the Mendip lakes are owned by Bristol Water, and are internationally important Sites of Special Scientific Interest for wildlife and rare plants. All of these sites have been assessed by Natural England as having “favourable” status, which is the highest rating and gives Bristol Water the best assessment in the water industry!

Bristol Water also works closely with local Wildlife Trusts on land management for rare plants; with Cheddar Gorge and Caves on protecting rare water voles; with Bristol Zoo on protecting endangered native crayfish; and with other wildlife groups to create habitat for otters, reptiles and rare birds. There’s more to water than you might expect."

Volunteering at The Festival of Nature enables you to work alongside all different organisations, be part of the events team, learn new skills and develop your knowledge on issues surrounding biodiversity.
