You've never heard nature like this before!

A huge congratulations to all of the young muscians who took part in the workshops and for a sell-out concert on June 5th. The final film and project will be available here shortly.

For the first time, the Festival of Nature has joined forces with the BBC Concert Orchestra. At the heart of the Festival of Nature is a mandate to find new ways to connect people with nature - through activities, performance, hands-on learning, exploration and discovery. This June, we'll be using music and composition to get 14-19 year olds thinking about nature in a whole new way.

Bristol has huge strengths in natural history - including wildlife filmmaking, and composition of wildlife documentary soundtracks. This year, in the run up to the Festival, young musicians across the city took part in a unique workshop writing their very own film score to a natural history production, and along the way developing thier performance, composition, improvisation & ensemble skills.

The world premiere performance of local young musicians and BBC Concert Orchestra performers took place on Saturday June 5th at Armada House. Further opportunities to hear the composition will include video and audio broadcast at the Bristol Festival of Nature and online and radio broadcast - watch this space!
