National BioBlitz Network

The beauty of BioBlitz is that it is so easy to replicate and since 2009 organisations across the UK have been running their own diverse and exciting BioBlitz events. This website has served as a portal into this National Network with information on BioBlitzes happening in each region.

You will be able to find out the latest on BioBlitz events happening near you by clicking on the relevant tab above. Here you will be able to see what's going on where, and more importantly how you can get involved.

Feeling inspired? To find out more about how to run a BioBlitz , check out our Run Your Own pages. If you are already running an event, Get in touch or register your event as part of the National Bioblitz Network and we'll set you up your very own page!

'We are beginning to realize that it is important that we know the species that we have, so that we can monitor changes in their numbers. Wildlife across the World is under threat from development, climate change, loss of habitat and from the introduction of alien species. Some of our own native wildlife is now rare and decreasing. Indeed the future of mankind on this planet depends on the wildlife, although many people do not realize this. The Bristol Natural History Consortium is doing important work in making the general public aware of the need to conserve our native species. The BioBlitz is a very effective way to raise our concerns with the public, and to show the wildlife that we have in our city to the next generation'.
