About the Awards

Nominations are now closed for the Green Volunteers Awards 2016.

Thanks to those who put forward their Green Champions, and good luck!

About the Awards

The Bristol we know and enjoy everyday is one of the greenest places to live in Europe, leafy open spaces visible all around us, some subtly hidden away, and much of it the result of the tireless, unpaid efforts of thousands of our fellow citizens. To honour these unsung heroes, we are hosting the 5th annual Green Volunteer Awards and are asking the people of Bristol to nominate their green champions.

Previous winners have included administrators of green projects, their voluntary work crucial in keeping their organisations viable; nature recorders whose tireless data collection puts Bristol’s wildlife on the map and, of course, those brave folk who are happy to wield a shovel in all sorts of inclement weather.

On the night, award winners receive a certificate commemorating their award, as well as a plaque specially commissioned from wood cut from a local tree as part of conservation management.

We are pleased to be working with Bristol Green Capital Partnership to celebrate the amazing volunteers in our city.
