About the Festival

Established in 2003, the Festival of Nature is the UK’s biggest free celebration of the natural world. The Festival began as a two-day showcase of interactive activities and live entertainment across Bristol’s Harbourside, and in recent years has grown to include an ever-expanding programme of events across the city and region throughout the summer. Festival of Nature now includes free flagship family events in Bristol and Bath, as well as a range of exciting fringe activity across the West of England.

The Festival content is developed by a committee consisting of a representative of each member of Bristol Natural History Consortium. Our amazing committee bring together a wealth of experience from the worlds of conservation, policy, research and media to put together a uniquely diverse programme each year.

We always strive to bring the most inspiring, educational and exciting content to Festival of Nature events which are delivered using the skills and experience of our member organisations, external exhibitors, partners and performers as well as our dynamic staff team.

In 2018 Festival of Nature will once again be returning to Bristol and Bath with amazing family events between 2nd and 10th of June. Make sure to check out our full calendar of events, and check back regularly as details are releases in the run-up to June!
